It’s not every day we add something to the main menu. This time we did, so it felt only right to jump from version 1.9.2 to big 1.10.0.

New Features

❗ Findings management

Track and manage incidents, opportunities for improvement (OFI), and nonconformities (NCR) with our new Findings feature. You can additionally categorise them by priority and keep track of their remediation status. Findings can be connected to requirements, controls, risks, assets and vendors. And like with every other item in Kordon, there’s a detailed changelog about every Finding change.

🔔 Intelligent Assignment Notifications

Now everyone can be informed when tasks are assigned to them with smart email notifications. What makes them smart? Well, the fact that you don’t get spammed with a billion emails or, well, a few less, because we intelligently batch assignments together and send one email every 10 minutes about all the new assignments. Of course, if anyone is anti e-mail, they can switch these notifications off from their personal preferences.

✨🔗 Magic Link Authentication

We are still kind of anti-password, but we get it, there are cases where SSO just isn’t an option. So we introduced login with a magic link. User enters their email, and they get a login link valid for 15 minutes. It works nicely with SSO, but you need to enable it via an environment parameter.

To enable passwordless email authentication, set the following environment variable. This assumes you have properly set up SMTP, if you haven’t, here's a guideline on how to setup SMPT in Kordon. 

APP_ALLOW_EMAIL_AUTH=true

Improvements

🕸️ More Connections

The thing that makes Kordon so powerful and flexible is the fact that everything is meaningfully connected, like in the real world. But as it is with life, it’s complicated, there are A LOT OF POSSIBLE connections and even more places to make these connections.

So this might look like a small change, but it took quite a bit of effort. But we did it! We checked every corner of Kordon and made sure that from everywhere you can connect everything you need to connect.

There are now ~90 entry points for making connections. Around half of these were added in this release.

🔍➕ Find or Create

Sometimes you’re looking for something and you can’t find it. But you need it, right? So now you can just create the new thing directly from the search modal without the extra navigation.

🐛 Bug Fixes

Fixed user name not updating in dropdown selections when changed in User Management.
