v1.16.0

Kordon 1.16.0

This release has lots going on. Some of it is hopefully invisible to you, and some is front and center. Tasks have been re-engineered under the hood to be more reliable and faster, and they are the foundation for the task-based automations we are building now. On top of that, you get a new Overview page with real insights, a new everyone task type, and an automation that makes sure failed audits and reviews never fall through the cracks.

What's New

Re-engineered Tasks

Tasks now run on a new foundation that is more reliable, faster, and ready for the task-based automations coming next. There is one change you will notice. Until now there was no limit on how early a task could be completed, so it was easy to complete a task by mistake and keep going until you had completed tasks all the way up to 2030. Now every task opens for completion at a reasonable time before its due date, based on its frequency.

  • OnceOpens for completion immediately
  • DailyOpens on the due date
  • WeeklyOpens 1 day before
  • MonthlyOpens 7 days before
  • QuarterlyOpens 30 days before
  • Semi-annualOpens 30 days before
  • AnnualOpens 60 days before

Everyone Tasks

A new task type for groups. An everyone task is assigned to a group, and it is marked complete only when everybody in that group has completed it. It sits next to the existing someone task, where a task assigned to a group is marked done as soon as one person in the group completes it.

A New Overview Page

The Overview page has been redesigned with a lot more color and, more importantly, insights. The widgets show how your information security management system evolves over time and what is behind the trends you are seeing. This is just the beginning, and more insights will follow in the coming months.

Automatic Tasks and Findings for Failed Audits and Reviews

The motto of Kordon has always been that if something needs to be done, there needs to be a task assigned to somebody for it. This release adds a new automation that makes that true in one more place. You can now have a task or a finding created automatically whenever an audit or review task fails, so the follow-up work does not fall through the cracks. Who it is assigned to and what it is about are set once, when you configure the automation.

Send Feedback from the App

Thousands of people in your organizations use Kordon without a direct line to us, so we added one. Under the main menu, everyone now sees a feedback button and can send us a message. We read every one of them and take your feedback to heart.

Quality of Life

  • Snappier Long Lists

The app should feel noticeably faster in long list views.

  • Many Small Improvements

This release grew so big that we cannot list every small thing we improved across the app.

Fixed

  • Completing a task no longer lets you run ahead of schedule. Tasks now open for completion within a reasonable window before their due date.

Security Updates

Fixed bugs and improved security. We have kept up with all supply chain security updates, as always.
